NU's conference expected to call for US troop withdrawal from Iraq

Director of the center of Muqtadha al-Sadr expected the world forum initiated by the Indonesia's biggest Muslim organization, Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) to call for immediately US troop withdrawal from Iraq.
Kadzim said any existing crisis in his country was primarily triggered by western countries especially the US.<>
"We have never for thousands year involved in internal conflict till the coming of US troop in my country," Kadzim told reporters on the sidelines of the International Conference of Islamic Scholars at the Jakarta's Borobudur Hotel Wednesday (30/7).
Kadzim added the US troop and its allies were the main source of the internal conflict in Iraq. The conflict between Sunni and Shiite, for instance, was a phenomenon in which its causes should be questioned.
"Since the coming of the US troop (in Iraq), there have been always bom explosions, mosques' destruction, including Sunni and Shiite shrines," Kadzim said, adding the US could even be considered as the main actor of the destruction of the area where Sheikh Abdul Qodir Jailani and other Shiite figure were born.
He was of view, the practical and strategic measures enable to stabilize Iraq were the withdrawal of the US troop from the country and its freedom to determine its own fate. (dar)
