NU's pesantren association to set up information center

A prospective measure has been taken by the Rabithah Ma'ahid Islamiyah of Pati Central Java. The NU's pesantren association has set up an information center throughout Pati so-called as Pesantren Crisis Center (PCC).

The fresh PCC would have a function as such a data center dealing with issues on pesantren and all its aspects in the region. The initiative has been taken for considering many emerging unsolved basic problems facing pesantrens.<>

Research coordinator of the PCC, Muji, recently said that the PCC would be used as a medium to deal with any basic problems faced by pesantrens.

"Actually, there have been so many cases emerging in pesantrens like violence, oppression, amoral attitudes, and many other issues faced by santris," Muji to NU Online's Munawir Aziz in Pati on Saturday (10/5)

Muji said the PCC would be functioned as both data center and consultation clinic to settle any problems faCed by santris.

"We would all out try to help santris seek such creative solutions over any existing problems in their life," he said.

"For that reason, we along with pesantren circles and kyais (clerics) set up this center. Though it has just been set up in some pesantrens, we would again and again socialize its importance to any other pesantrens in Pati," Muji said.

In the meantime secretary of Pati's RMI Jamal Ma'mur Asmani said that the PCC was a result of any views initiated by social religious researchers of the RMI. (rif)
