The Indonesia’s biggest Muslim organization Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) has set up a forum so-called as Nahdlatul Ulama Information Technology Community Network (Jarkitnu). The forum is aimed at gathering devotees and experts of the nahdliyin-based organization.
The purposefully forum of the official site of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama NU Online was formulated by NU IT specialists at a workshop, held at the Jakarta’s Sufyan Hotel on 8-9 August 2007.<>
At the workshop, one of the agendas formulated was on how to immediately prepare such infrastructure of rukyat and NU Online network in giving precisely and accurately information dealing with the settlement of Idul Fitri.
The systematically infrastructure was regarded as the most important thing for all of the nahdliyin (NU followers) throughout Indonesia. It would expectedly be handled by the Nahdlatul Ulama Committee of Astrology (LFNU).
“Hopefully, there would be no dissenting opinion respecting the settlement of Idul Fitri as happened last year. This is extremely important. This is a matter dealt with syara’ (Islamic law), “ the editor of the NU Online Adnan Anwar said. (rif)
