Rumors on burning of the Koran in Florida, USA, on September 11, 2010 is expected not to trigger anger to Muslims in Maluku.
According to a local Islam leader, Husein Toisutta, Thursday Muslims must not be provoked by the rumors which would only disrupt harmony of life.&l<>t;br />
In the current fasting month, Muslims are enhancing their faith, he said.
"Seting fire to the holy Koran as rumored in Florida, is expected not to ruin the
inherited `Pela Gandong` spirit in Maluku, where people of different faiths can live side by side harmoniously," Husein said.
Husein also pleaded the Maluku people to leave the matter to the nation`s leaders so Indonesia would not be provoked by the rumors. (ant/dar)
