The Muslim-based United Development Party (PPP) intends to meet with the Gerindra (Greater Indonesia Movement) and Hanura (Pople`s Conscience) parties in an effort to expand the "golden triangle" political alliance, a spokesman said.
PPP Chairman Suryadharma Ali said in a press statement received here on Saturday he planned to meet the two parties` figures Prabowo Subiantoro and Wiranto.<>
He said he could meet with them before the implementation of the legislative election on April 9. "We could probably meet after the campaign period. If it is impossible, then we may do it after April 9. We will soon put it on our agenda," he said, as quoted by Antara news agency.
Suryadharma Ali who is also minister of cooperatives and small and medium businesses said that the "golden triangle" coalition would not only include PPP, Golkar Party and the Indonesia Democratic Party Struggle (PDIP).
The three parties were a mere trigger for the development of wider political communication, he said. Therefore, he said, his side was grateful upon knowing that the National Mandate Party (PAN) had also been interested to communicate with Golkar and PDIP. (dar)
