The KPI chairman was on the occasion in the company of members of the press council and Minister of Communications and Information Sofyan Jalil.
Sasa said, KPI has done its best to ban television stations from showing non-educative programs.
"The results of an investigation and reports from the people said that many television stations have often shown immoral and indecent programs," he said as quoted by the state news agency.
He said admonition and evaluation were conducted based on the existing broadcasting guidelines, which called for good morality, education, good performance, respect of women, and causing no depression to children.
In the meantime, Leo Batubara, deputy chairman of the Press Council said, his office had made an admonition two years ago, but none gave a positive response until after the council cooperated with the police in warning the TV programmers.
Sasa said further that KPI could not work alone in making television broadcasting programs. (dar)
