President chairs cabinet meeting on preparations for Ramadhan

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held a plenary cabinet meeting here on Thursday to discuss preparations for the Islamic fasting month of Ramadhan, the post-fasting Idul Fitri holidays and the 66th anniversary of the country`s independence next month.
In his opening remarks he said cabinet ministers` concentration was usually divided during the fasting month of Ramadhan and the post fasting month holiday of Idul Fitri.
During the time ministers had to continue carrying out their duties while at the same time also working to prepare for Ramadhan and Idul Fitri.
"So let us consolidate all our duties," he said.
The President called on his ministers to work hard and cooperate with each other so that they could implement their duties well especially during Ramadhan, Idul Fitri and the anniversary of the country`s independence.
That way, he said, the cabinet`s perfomance could be made maximal before the second anniversary of the second Indonesia Unity cabinet in October.
All members of the cabinet attended the meeting which was also participated in by presidential special staff members, members of the Presidential Advisory Board and officials from the National Statistics Agency and the National Innovation Committee. (ant)
