President hopes Dharma Santi Festificity to strengthen interl-religious ties

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono has expressed hope the National Dharma Santy celebration could strengthen brotherhood among Indonesian people.
The head of state made the statement when attending the Hindu Dharma Santy celebration at the open stage of Arda Chandra cultural park here on Saturday night.<>
"This kind of momentum could improve the relationship and social ties for all citizens," the president said, adding that brotherhood is a requirement to become a big nation in the future.
"If there is no mutual understanding, concern and mutual help, it’s impossible for us to become a big nation," Yudhoyono said as quoted by the state news agency.
He said such brotherhood should not only exist among Hindus but also among people of other religiuos faiths.
The national Dharma Santi is the final celebration of the Balinese Hindu festivity of Nyepi. (dar)
