President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said Tuesday he had signed a government decree on lectures' allowances.
Previously, the president has signed a decree on teachers' allowances that stipulates teachers have the right to receive an allowance worth 100 percent of their basic salary.<>
“The decree stipulates lectures' rights, obligations and allowances,” he told Antara state news agency during the National Education Day commemoration ceremony at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) in West Java.
Yudhoyono said the decree stipulates several allowances for lectures, including professional allowances, special allowances, and honorific allowances. The decree also regulates the standard skills and competency of lectures.
The president said the decree also regulates allowances from the government for lecturers at private education bodies. (jp/dar)
