President To Attend "nuzul Qur`an" Function In Purwokerto

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono are expected to attend a Nuzul Qur`an (revelation of the Koran to the Prophet Muhammad) function here on Wednesday night.
The event is to take place in Purwokerto`s Baitussalam Grand Mosque.<>
Nuzul Qur`an this year falls on the eve of the 17th day of Ramadhan, the Muslim fasting month which started last September 1.
On the occasion, the president would also be accompanied by Religious Affairs Minister Maftuh Basyuni and Central Java Governor Bibit Waluyo.
The head of state and his entourage arrived in Purwokerto from Cirebon (West Java) by train at 03.15 pm.
The president`s arrival in Purwokerto is part of his three-day Ramadhan fasting month visit covering several cities in West Java like Bandung, Tasikmalaya and Cirebon, and Central Java. (ant)
