President to attend writing of holy Qur'an of Mushaf Al Bantani in Serang

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and some ministers are scheduled to arrive in Serang, Banten Province, for attending the commemoration of the Nuzulul Quran and the start of Al-Bantani Mushaf Quran writing on Monday afternoon.
"The President is slated to attend the event, and for sure Minister for Religious Affairs Maftuh Basyuni has been confirmed to join the occasion," spokesman of the Banten Provincial Administration Eneng Nurcahyati said here on Monday.<>
Chairman of Banten’s branch of the Muslim Ulema (Cleric) Council (MUI) KH Wahaf Afif said the writing of the Holy Quran was expected to be completed within three years with a total cost of Rp5 billion.
The initial writing will be conducted by five people, including President Yudhoyono and Minister Basyuni, while the next process will be done by 11 people. (ant/dar)
