Santri can finally take part in presidential election

After not being registered in the voter lists (DPT) in the last legislative election, santri now capable of determining their president in the 8 July presidential election.
The santri can take part in the coming presidential election following a statement of the Brebes General Elections Commission (PKUD) that those living in Islamic boarding schools (Pesantren) had their voting rights.<>
"Till Wednesday (13/5), the KPU team had listed eligible voters," chairman of the Brebes KPUD Mahfuddin was quoted by the Implementation Division Masykuri as saying here on Thursday (14/5).
He explained, the Subdistric Election Committee (PPK) in Sirampog listed eligible voters at Pesantren Al Hikamh, located in Benda village, Sirampog subdistrict.
"There have been some 1.300 santri who are eligible as voters included on the temporary list of voters (DPS) in the presidential election," Masykuri said, adding the santri were included those who were not registered on the voter lists in the last legislative election. (was)
