West Kalimantan’s NU to Conduct Regional Work Session

The Nahdlatul Ulama Regional Board (PWNU) of West Kalimantan will soon conduct a regional work session (Mukerwil) on next Monday (21/7) at Pontianak’s Convention Center by an opening ceremony of the West Kalimantan’s ulemas meeting.
The highest forum ahead the regional conference will reportedly be opened at 09.00 WITA (Central Indonesian Time) by the Governor of West Kalimantan, Utsman Jaffar.
According to the West Kalimantan’s PWNU Executive Council M Zeet Hamdy Assovie, the forum would discuss the developments achieved by the West Kalimantan’s NU to the future. One of important points raised was that how to develop NU in the province.
Based on the data of M Zeet Hamdy, the total of Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren) in West Kalimantan was by 135 ones (11 Traditional/Salafiyah, 76 Modern/Ashriyah, and 48 both Traditional and modern) with the total of santri/students amounted to 29.000. (rif)
