'Dakwa key instrument to achieve betterment'

Deputy chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Board (PBNU) of Lamongan KH A. Suyuthi said that dakwa (propagation) was one of the key instruments in, among others, achieving the betterment of mankind.
"Dakwa is none other than a call for humanity to the path of God, which is the path to Islam," he told NU Online here on Thusrday.
According to Kiai Suyuthi, Islam derived from the revelation of God and the Sunnah of His Messenger, is the source of value that will provide the style, color and form of Islamic culture.
"A form of culture which contains a message or Islamic values, may appear on individuals or people outside Islam," he said.
He added that as theological actualization, the Islamic dakwa was actualized in various systems of social activities to at least affect people in realizing the teachings of Islam in all aspects of life by using a certain way. (Masdar)
