The chairman of the Sragen chapter of Pagar Nusa martial art Wardoyo said that a large gathering participated by a thousand warriors in Tangen Sub-district, Sragen, Central Java, on Sunday (2/7) was an effort to cultivate better relationships among the warriors.
Wardoyo admitted the event was part of to maintaining the harmony between Pagar Nusa members, people and community groups in general.
He said the Pagar Nusa was kommitted to strengthening the spirit of nationalism to defend and uphold the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
He added that the gahtering was participated by warriors from each sub-district in Sragen. Present at the occasion were members of some educational institutions such as Ma'arif NU and pesantren (Islamic boarding schools).
Wardoyo was proud of the event for being held independently, derived from the Pagar Nusa membership fees
Present also at the gathering were chairman of PP Pagar Nusa M Nabil Haroen, chairman of the Sragen chapter of NU KH Ma'ruf Islamuddin and Sragen regent Hj. Kusdinar Untung Yuni Sukowati and deputy chairman of PP Pagar Nusa M. Athoillah.
