'hardline organizations have potential to seed terrorism'

Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), the largest Muslim organization in Indonesia, warned some 12 hardline organizations. General Chairman of NU, KH Said Aqil Siraj (Kang Said) said these groups could spark new hardline movements in Indonesia.<>
Kang Said said that those groups were not terrorist organizations but they embraced hardline approaches. Those organizations are located in Makassar (South Sulawesi), Lampung, Mataram (West Nusa Tenggara), Jakarta, Sukabumi and Cirebon (West Java), Surabaya, Bondowoso and Jember (East Java).
"I'm afraid they have potential to seed terrorism," Kang Said said recently. He added that NU was ready to help government to cut terror network in Indonesia.
He said that NU would raise programs aimed at strengthening the national unity by deepening the four pillars of the nation (Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, and Unity in Diversity, and the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia / NKRI).
