Gus Sholah calls on committee to abide by NU rules

The leader of Pesantren Tebuireng Jombang KH Salahuddin Wahid (Gus Sholah) appealed to the conference committee to act in accordance with the Constitution and Bylaws (AD /ADR) of NU.

"I hope the committee could act in accordance with the AD / ART. Let the participants participate (in the conference) without being forced to write down the would-be members of Ahlul halli wal aqdi (Ahwa)," said Gus Sholah after signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) at the KH Yusuf Hasyim building, Pesantren Tebuireng in Jombang, East Java, on Friday (31/7).
Gus Sholah said that there were rumors that the participants are not allowed to enter the conference arena for not nominating nine candidates in the Ahwa.
"People who want to register to become participants are required to write down the names of nine. Well, those people do not want to do so. That is why it should be decided at the conference," he said.
According to Gus Sholah, participants are still entitled to enter the conference arena.
"I think there is no need to write down the names (of the would-be members of Ahwa), he said, adding that the participants who come to Jombang could enter the conference arena without any condition. (masdar)
