Loyalty-to-homeland rally held in Pekalongan

Thousands of participants consisting of military, police, municipal police, boy scouts, students and santri throughout the city of Pekalongan and surrounding areas on Saturday (7/1) participated in a loyalty-to-homeland rally in the Pekalongan's Square.

The momentous event aimed at strengthening the commitment of remaining in unity within the frame of the Unitary State of Republic of Indonesia was led by the Supreme Leader (Rais Aam Idaroh Aliyah) of the so-called Jam'iyyah Ahlit Thariqah Al-Mu'tabaroh An-Nahdliyyah (JATMAN) Habib Luthfi bin Yahya.

The inspector of ceremony initially led by TNI chief Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo, was then held by Deputy Police Chief (Wakapolda) of Central Java Brig Gen. Firli accompanied by Military Resort Command (Korem) chief Col. Makutarama.  While TNI chief Gen. Gatot Nurmantyo along with President Joko Widodo would reportedly attend at a gathering to commemorate the birthday of Prophet Muhammad SAW (Maulid Nabi) at Kanzus sholawat, Sunday (8/1).

"The loyalty-to-Homeland rally is part of a series of activities of Maulid Nabi held by Kanzus Sholawat in which its khodimul maulid is Lutfi bin Yahya Habib," as Secretary of the Committee Sumarjo said.

He added that some of the activities having been and will be held were so-called Nikah Maulid, holding meetings with sufi order (tarekat) leaders, military and police, amulet long marches, musical performances of samer, khotmil Qur'an and reading so-called rotibul kubro.

On the occasion it was also recited the pledge of loyalty to Homeland as a commitment to maintaining the integrity of the nation and the state in view of the principle of diversity that has often been undermined by certain groups. (Abdul Muiz/Masdar)
