Madrassa science competition held in Surabaya

Some 400 participants of Islamic senior, junior and elementary schools (madrassa) throughout East Java  participated in a science competition selection in Surabaya East Java on 15-16 May 2013.<>

"The first phase of this selection is to determine the top ten for each, and of the ten best entries there will be chosen six best entries," the selection coordinator, Abdul Hakim, told reporters here on Wednesday.

While the winners will be determined in the second phase of selection on Thursday (16/5) after selecting ten best entries and the first winner will participate in the national competition.

In the first stage of this race began at 17:00 to 21:00 pm. Answers would be corrected by an independent team from the State University of Surabaya.

In this competition, there are nine subjects such as Islamic religious education, mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, economics, geography, Arabic and English.

Some participants said they were optimistic to win the race for having done a thorough preparation.

"Sure, I'm really sure to win the competition because I has made ​​preparations and prayers," said one of the participants of the  Amanatul Ummah Islamic Senior High School Surabaya, Zaenur Ridho.
