Head of Youth Movement of Ansor Riau province Purwaji clarified rejection issue by the customary Malay Institution (Lembaga Adat Melayu). He denied the issue that LAM rejected Ansor presence in their region.
In his Facebook account, on Wednesday (9/19) Purwajid said that he had met with Siak sultanate relatives and Lembaga Adat Melayu to give clariffication. This effort expected to prevent polemic related to Ustadz Abdul Somad (UAS) who is a populer preacher.
“Alhamdulillah, I and some close friend had given clarification to Siak sultanate family Sri Indrapura and LAM Riau related to information about National Dzikr in Siak,” wrote Purwaji.
In his post, Purwaji also expressed that the meeting was a good momentum not only to know each other but also to align inaccurate information about Ansor activities in public.
“I am grateful, we were welcomed well by Siak sultanate family and LAM Riau. Hopefully, The appeal that LAM dan Sultan family mediate reconciliation between Ansor and Ustaz Abdul Somad can be implemented to prevent prolonged conflict. Thanks,” he wrote again.
Purwaji claimed that Ansor Riau was not expelled by LAM. The meeting and clarification was held after a video published at a youtube channel entitled Purwaji, head of Ansor Riau was expelled by LAM. “The video made me feel uncomfortable all the way to Pekanbaru Siak’s trip, last night,” wrote Purwaji.
He explained. “I was warmly welcomed as family by Siak sultanate relatives, datuk-datuk (grandparent) LAM Riau, and at that night, by LAM Siak,” said Purwaji.
In the meeting, his party and LAM have a good discussion and mutual respect each other. They have a good deal. He asked the parties who provocated the people to stop because Malay people were intelligent and would not provocated by slanders.
“We can meet and speak well, decent with no curses. Because, here we stand on tradition based on religious teaching. And religious teaching based on holy book.. and Al-Qur’an teach us,” he added. (Kendi Setiawan)
