Jakarta, NU Onlline
Former General Chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH Hasyim said the egoism of state institutions are now being implicated in the constitutional system of Indonesia. If this problem is not addressed, it will jeopardize the future of Indonesia itself.<>

Hasyim exemplified the Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perppu) rejected by the Constitutional Court (MK). On the other hand, when the Court was in favor of the leaders about the Oil and Gas Act, the government was not going to run it well.

"This means now there is egoism among institutions in this country. It is very dangerous if not addressed immediately," he said on the sidelines of a fit and proper test for the Constitutional Court judges at the Parliament Building, Jakarta, Tuesday (4/3).

According to him, the Constitutional Court judges were certainly not pleased with the issuance of Perppu by the president. Moreover, so far the Court has constitutionally been at the same level as the presidential post. But in Perppu, supervision of the Court is made the Judicial Commission (KY). Here there are constraints of interests.

Worse, the Court has not been transparent about the cause of the rejection of the Perppu.

"It should be open to the public, why did the Court refuse the Perppu. If so, the public will know clearly," he explained.

On the other hand, Hasyim added, the Court was not strict about whether the Oil and Gas Act would be implemented or not. Ideally, after the Constitutional Court canceled the Perppu, there should be new law as a substitute.

" Why should it suddenly ben entered into the EMR. In this case, the government is also not transparent," he explained.

Furthermore, the leader of Al - Hikam Islamic boarding schools in Malang and Depok said, egoism among state institutions will add to the complexity of the problem of the nation.

"Because of the egoism, our energy will be drained," he said.
