The Gusdurian Network National Coordinator Alissa Wahid said that Gusdurian community was different from people who only adore KH Abdurrahman Wahid, colloquially known as Gus Dur.
“Keep in mind that Gusdurian is not just Gus Dur devotee and they are different from people who only admire Gus Dur,” she said in the national gathering of Gusdurian at Hajj dormitory Sleman, Yogyakarta, Saturday (8/10).
However, She continued, Gusdurian is a group of people who explores the thought of Gus Dur, imitates his behaviour to maintain the unitary state of Indonesiarepublic (NKRI). Gusdurian is a group who never lacks of love to people in the grassroot.
"We inherit the spirit and tradition of Gus Dur, to always defend humanity, against injustice, and oppression,” she said.
She gave an example, if people be persecuted because of their beliefs, or arrested because he or she doesn’t obey capital owner and political movement surpessed people, Gusdurian must present to give solution.
According Alissa, this year is a year of real struggle for Gusdurian because the nation must be continued to “be stitched” the national reason. Therefore, Gusdurian must be brave to take a stand and defend the interest of the people.
She said, Gusdurian need not feels as a small group because Gus Dur never felt as a small one. Gus Dur was always optimist if he did something for people, he would be helped by great strength.
“So, let’s move Gus Dur tradition to strengthen Indonesia. Gus Dur has exemplified it. This is time we continue,” she said, ending the speech. (M Farif/Qomarul Adib/Muiz)
