Ansor chairman Yaqut Cholil Qoumas invited all nation elements not to be silent when there were several groups who wanted to break the unity of Indonesia at this time.
“We want everyone, the mayority of people who are tolerant and love of the unity, dare to speak, no longer choose silence,” said the man who familiarly called as Gus Yaqut at the departure ceremony of the One Nation Kirab at The people determination’s monument (Papera), at Mandala street, Merauke on Sunday (9/16) afternoon.
Gus Yaqut revealed, his party has often warned the people about the threat from small groups who wanted to change or break the nation concencus.
Besides that, he also noticed several groups that using religion as a political instrument and a confict source. If this condition was ignored, he continued, the nation unity which built on plurality was in the dangerous condition.
In this situation, Pancasila, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika (Unity in Diversity), the Unitary State of The Repubic of Indonesia (NKRI), and the 1945 Consitution must remain solid to binder tools our nation and state life. Religion also could be rahmah or source of love and peace as practiced for centuries by ancestor of Indonesi nation.
The One Nation Kirab was held by the Central Board of GP Ansor, with background of this problems. He believed that all Indonesian people agreed and supported this noble purpose. Although we came from different ethnics, religions, languages, cultures, tastes, and others, but in essence there are many more similarities.
“We breathe the same air from Indonesia’s sky, drink the same water from Indonesia’s motherland; birth, grow, and dead in Nusantara land; we also want to protect religion, nation, and country in one breath. We are all Indonesia,” said Gus Yaqut.
He also explained, the One Nation Kirab team entitled Protecting Religion, Nation, and Country brought white and red flag get around all Indonesia territory concurrently started from the outermost point this day (on Sunday). The five starting point were Sabang (Nangro Aceh Darussalam), Nunukan (north Kalimantan), Miangas (north Sulawesi), Rote (east Nusa Tenggara), and Merauke (Papua). (Ahmad Rozali)
