General chairwoman Nahdlatul Ulama Famale Student Assosiation (IPPNU) ensured to her members in all parts of Indonesia to treat hoax as a common enemy. This is caused hoax could threat harmony of national life.
“We ensured cadres in all parts of Indonesia to treat hoax as common enemy because it can threat national harmony,” she said at the opening remark of national meeting (Rapimnas) PP IPPNU at Jakarta (10/5).
IPPNU had a concern about the growth of hoax contents on social media. “Hoax spreading is part of moral crises that will harm and threat the future generation,” said Puti.
According to her, social media was a tool to socialize and interact. Therefore, to prevent the spreading of hoax, the user must be wise, namely by criticizing the information which he or she received.
“Social media, included of WA groups must be used to common benefits, not to spread hoax contents. So if there is information which is not clear, please investigate,” she said.
Puti pleaded to all national meeting participants who represent all region to active in giving student digital literation in order to aware millennial generation to always wise when they used social media.
“The central board of IPPNU will carry on some intellectual programs and social movements such optimize digital literation. That program is a priority to push NU students in order to work and innovate through social media,” she explained.
The meeting held three days, from Friday to Sunday (5-7 October 2018). The forum was followed by 34 provincial leaders of IPPNU from all Indonesia parts. (Husni Sahal/Kendi Setiawan)
