Controvercy da’wah at the night club, the response of NU

Secretary general of Nahdlatul Ulama H Helmy Faishal Zaini apreciated the action of Miftah Maulana Habiburrahman who familiarly called as Gus Miftah for his da’wah at the night club.
“I apreciate Gus Miftah’s way of da’wah,” he said, on Thursday (9/13) in Jakarta.
Gus Miftah’s da’wah that carried out on night entertainment site in Bali was being conversation and caused pros and cont. The questions was the audience of preaching was using sexy dress and the preaching held on the bar.
“Don’t be hurred to judge that people in the night club will on immoral forever,” he continued.
In his opinion, there was no problem in Gus Miftah action. According to him, the preaching will touch the hearth of people in that location to back to the right way.
“In the NU community, we knew Kiai Hamim Djazuli or Gus Miek who popular as a saint. His da’wah was in the nightlife. Hence, his popular sentence was being light in the dark place,” he explained.
The da’wah methods that used by Gus Miftah, according to Helmy likes water in the dryness. “The concept da’wah of Gus Miftah was ‘go-da’wah’, namely da’wah that serve and proactive,” he said.
In his opinion, what was doing by Gus Miftah had positive value. Because of the da’wah method visited entertainment sites that identical with immorality directly. (Red: Kendi Setiawan)
