Football supporter killed, Gus Yaqut: Blind fanaticism is a source of savage

A national tragedy of football happened again by supporters actions who were violent and barbaric. The tragedy happened when Indonesia League 1 matched two rivalry clubs, Persib Bandung and Persija Jakarta at the Gelora Bandung Lautan Api stadium, Gedebage, Bandung, on Sunday (9/23).

Several supporters of Persib (bebotoh) ganged up on one of Persija supporter (Jakmania) named Haringga Sirila (23) until killed before kick-off a classical match was running. He was from Cengkareng who birth in Indramayu.

The savage reaped a lot of criticism because similar tragedy has been repeated many times. Even, Ridwan Kamil, the west Java governor said, for him it was better no football league if there was a life that must be sacrificed. 

To respond inhumanity action of supporters, Chairman of Ansor Yaqut Cholil Qoumas (Gus Yaqut) said, the bebotoh action was caused by blind fanatism that ended in outrage.

“Blind fanatism was source of savage. Oh my God, save our country,” said Gus Yaqut as cited by NU Online on Tuesday (9/25) from his Facebook account.

He hoped, Harringga had calm and peace in heaven. Gus Yaqut also pushed the tragedy was being a lesson as well as a reminder for all, particularly for football supporters. 
After the incident, the west Java governor instructed to arrest and punish the perpetrators as hard as possible. Recently, 10 supporters who was alleged beating have been arrested by police.

Eight peope has been designated as a suspect with seven years threat of sentence. The police said it still possible to add the alleges. Moreover, the police suspected there were more than 30 people who attacked the victim. 

Meanwhile, Minister of Youth and Sport Imam Nahrawi as written by kompas.com said, Indonesia Football Association (PSSI) must be responsible for this tragedy that ended in death. 

“Because this was not for the first time, but the seventh. It must be ended,” said Imam.

Besides that, he truly expected to the organizing commitee to take responsibility for the tragedy. “Don’t just apologize, but must be responsible. PSSI must be responsible as well,” said Imam again. (Fathoni)
