Habib Sheikh: We must keep maintaining Pancasila

Tabligh akbar / religious gathering and shalawat performance echoing in the Sampuraga field, West Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan on Friday (25/8) night were attended by some 10 thousand Muslims from various regions.

The Indonesian 72nd anniversary packed with West Kotawaringin Bershalawat was attended by Habib Sheikh Bin Abdul Qodir Assegaf and Habib Zaenal Abidin Muhsin Al-Hinduan.

On the sidelines of the shalawat performance, Habib Sheikh appealed to all attendees to keep maintaining and defending the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI) by cultivating a closer relationship and respecting for one another.

"Indonesia the Pancasila country and is state ideology must be upheld, NKRI is final let's strengthen both ukhuwwah Islamiyah (Islamic brotherhood) and ukhuwwah insaniyah (human brotherhood)," said Habib Sheikh who was greeted with takbir shouting by tens of thousands of pilgrims.

Meanwhile, Habib Zaenal Abidin in his speech called for the importance of maintaining unity by respecting the differences of religions and so on.

"Respect for others is the key to maintaining the sovereignty of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

The religious gathering was also attended by ulema (Muslim scholars) and regional government officials such as SKPD, TNI, Police and various elements of society.

Regent of West Kotawaringin Nur Hidayah attending the occasion expressed gratitude for the presence of the habaib and the entire community of West Kotawaringin.

"Due to the shalawat blessing along with the habaib, hopefully West Kotawaringin will always be given peace, security and prosperity," the regent said. (Suhud Mas'ud/Masdar)
