The news of the death of the late Fourth President of the Republic of Indonesia KH Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) Mrs. Hj Sinta Nuriyah spread massively in WhatsApp groups, on Thursday (19/8/2021) afternoon. The Ciganjur family responded that the news was a hoax.
"In response to the misinformation circulating (online), we, the family of Mrs. Nyai Sinta Nuriyah Wahid, report that Mrs. Nyai Sinta is in good health and well-being. Please share this information and put aside the hoax," said the youngest daughter of the late Gus Dur Inaya Wulandari Wahid via short message shared by a member of the National Secretariat of the Gusdurian Network, Mukhibbullah.
At the time Mrs Nyai Sinta was reported that she had died, Nyai Sinta was praying the midday prayer and continued by reciting the Qur'an. Her condition was also healthy.
The Gus Dur's eldest daughter Alissa Wahid via a Twitter account representing the Ciganjur family asked for prayers for Mrs Nyai Sinta to live long, healthy and full of blessings.
“My mother, Mrs. Sinta Nuriyah Abdurrahman Wahid, thank God she is healthy, is reciting the Qur'an. Please pray for her to live long, healthy, in a life full of blessings," wrote Alissa shortly after the news of her mother's death spread on social media.
