General Chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) KH Said Aqil Siroj expected leaders of the United Development Party (PPP) to soon reunite and strengthen the Muslim-based political party.<>
"If the PPP could return to its vision and mission, I believe, everything could be solved through peaceful means," he told NU Online here on Tuesday (23/9).
As reported Suryadharma recently dismissed all PPP officials that he deemed responsible for his ouster as party chairman.
Secretary-general Romahurmuziy and three deputies, Emron Pangkapi, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin and Suharso Monoarfa, were fired by Suryadharma, who said the four officials had severely violated the party’s constitution by attempting to fire him.
“They are facing the consequences of trying to fire me illegally. What they did was against the party’s regulations,” he said Friday.
