The biography of the NU supreme leader (Rais Aam) KH Ma'ruf Amin, popularly known as Kiai Ma'ruf, was launched in the ballroom of Muamalat Tower, Jakarta, on Monday (12/3). The launch also commemorated the 75th anniversary of the NU prominent cleric.
The biography entitled Penggerak Umat Pengayom Bangsa was written by the Director of Indostrategic Economic Intelligence Anif Punto Utomo.
The book contains the cleric's track record since his childhood including his position as the highest leader in the country's largest Islamic organization, NU.
Present on the occasion were the Minister of Social Affairs Idrus Marham, Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Wiranto, Rural development Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Minister Eko Putro Sandjojo, and the former Education Minister M Nuh.
The event was also attended by Police Chief Gen Tito Karnavian and such political figures as the Chairman of the National Awakening Party Muhaimin Iskandar and the Chairman of the United Development Party Muhammad Romahurmuziy. (Abdullah Alawi/Masdar)
