The new way of Indonesia's economy based on the fifth principle of Pancasila

In the organizational consolidation toward the first century of Nahdlatul Ulama that held in Pontianak, on Saturday (9/15) night, general chairman of Nahdlatul Ulama KH Said Aqil Siroj said that NU had to take a leading roles, both religious roles (syuhudan diniyah) and national roles (syuhudan wathaniyah)
In front of the board of NU, autonomous bodies, and institutions, both provincial level and regional levels throughout west Kalimantan, Kiai Said explained that NU cadres must believe that NU was jamiyyah shahibul haq that able to survive and direct the independent nation and state’s life.
The organizational consolidation which was initiated by The Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama was aimed to manage the organization within and to manage cultural strengthen that had enormous potency. Social reconciliation that so far has been carried out by ulemas from islamic boarding school (pesantren) must be enhanced because of the current development, globalization, and inevitable capitalization.
Therefore, chief of supreme council of Nahdlatul Ulama KH Ma’ruf Amin at the same forum offered a solution in the format of movements. First, movement to keep and saveguard ummah (harakah hamiyah) from wrong ideology that could destroy Indonesian unity. Second, harakah khidmaiyah that concentrated on developing devotion to the ummah.
“Among the forms of harakah khidmaiyah are through new concept of the new way of Indonesia's economy,” said Kiai Ma’ruf.
He affirmed, the essence of the new way of Indonesia's economy rooted from the fifth principle of Pancasila, namely Social justice for all Indonesian people.
“Based on this principle, the new way of Indonesia's economy will try to decrease various disparities between conglomerates and, small and micro businesses; between global and local products; and between the have and the poor,’ said Kiai Ma’ruf.
At the end of the session, Kiai Ma’ruf delivered a prayer request as well as said goodbye to all Nahdliyin in west Kalimantan to step over to fight for harakah Nahdliyah in the scope of governmental structurally. (Ulil Hadrawi/Kendi Setiawan)
