The use of information technology seems to be of great importance especially to help address people's needs including in finding various sources and references in any deliberation. At this point, some 150 Nahdliyin (NU followers) from Margoyoso subdistrict Pati regency held a meeting so-called as bahtsul masail (problems deliberation) over the weekend.
The use of multimedia and digital books is one of the interesting approaches from the bahtsul masail initiated by the Advisory Board (Syuriyah) of the Margoyoso's chapter of NU which is usually held every Sunday of Pahing.<>
The bahtsul masail was equipped with computers which are litered with a wide range of digital religious books and many other reference books called as maktabah shamilah. Through the digital books, those participating in the forum could directly see all sources and references displayed through projector.
The approaches used by the Margoyoso's chapter of NU are still considered new and are very effective in finding required sources or expressions from the books (kitab).
This forum was initially established by Rais Aam of the Central Baord of Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) KH MA Sahal Mahfudh with the name Roudlotul Musyawirin in 1966s following his return from studying in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).
Maslakulhuda.net reported that the forum was aimed at cultivating relationships, building communications among Nahdliyin and seeking solutions upon various actual problems facing society. The forum was later handed over to the Margoyoso's chapter of NU. (dar)
