Maarif expected not to focus more on formal education

The Maarif NU educational institution has so far focused more on formal education. Whereas the institution should expectedly give best services in informal/non-formal educational institutions like Islamic boarding school (pesantren).
"So far the pesantren education has not yet been addressed," said the Dean of the Education Faculty of the Tegal's Panca Sakti University , H. Basukiyatno in the arena of the Central Java's NU conference in Brebes on Saturday (12/7).<>
Basuki quoting a verse of the Holy Qur'an on the importance of tauhid education said the it was one of subjects having so far been taught in pesantren.
"The more people know their God, the more they have happiness in the world and the hereafter," he said.
Pesantren, he added, had comprehensively introduced the importance of the tauhid education. He said the Maarif NU should not put aside the "tauhid laboratory". (was)
