Lailatul ijtima' cultivates relationship among Nahdliyin

A religious gathering so-called Lailatul ijtima held regularly by the Banyudono's chapter of NU, Boyolali district, Central Java, has played an important role to further cultivate relationship among Nahdliyin (NU followers) and local residents in the region. <>
"The lailatul ijtima' is expected to be such a bridge of communication from village to village. Thus, NU could be known in each village," chairman of the Banyudono's chapter of NU Zainal Arifin said here on Tuesday (24/12).
According to him, the communication could also synergize NU programs and community interests, adding, the lailatul ijtima' was continued with the establishment of branches in each village.
The gathering was also used to study a religious book, tafsir showi delivered by chairman of lawmaking body of the Banyudono's chpater of NU, KH Asikin.
Kiai Asikin explaining the content of surah al - Fatihah, emphasized the importance of this surah. "Hopefully we can recite it correctly, because this surah is one of the pillars of prayer," he said.
