Never hesitate to 'employ' graduates from NU iniversities

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Higher Education Committee (LPTNU) Noor Ahmad said that all graduated from NU universities had noble morality (akhlaqul karimah), intellectual integrity and the ability of addressing any situation.<>
"Because of that, I must state for the parties that want to empower that never hesitate to use graduates from NU universities (PTNU) because their (moral and intellectual) integrity is guaranteed", He said in the in the graduation ceremony of Muslimat NU Midwifery Academy (Akbid), in the Hall of the local councilors recently.
Noor Ahmad asserted that NU had developed a NU character-oriented education, saying the first to be educated was a character building, then making education more reflective of community interests.
"So what developed by NU in education is the process of so-called tazkiyah, ta'lif, tadzkiyah and hidmah to ensure graduates from PTNU in upholding akhlaqul Karimah and being trusted," he said.
On the occasion, the Rector of Wahid Hasyim University, Semarang, said that NU universities have experienced a rapid increase, adding that some 215 NU universities throughout Indonesia had all been accredited or under the accreditation process.
"It is part of commitment of NU elements in developing PTNU as mandated in the NU 32nd Congress in Makassar," he added.
He also called for the importance of NU circles to develop Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) in PTNU milieu.
