Rais 'Aam "supreme leader" Idara Aliyah Jam'iah Ahlith Tariqah Al-Mu'tabarah An-Nahdliyah (JATMAN) Habib Luthfi bin Yahya said that the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad's Birthday (Maulid) was not only to be grateful for the blessings of the birth of the Prophet, but also as a moment to be grateful for the services of the heroes of the Indonesian independence.

Habib Luthfi made the remarks at the commemoration of the Prophet Muhammad SAW's Birthday & the 42nd Haul of KH Muhammad Abdul Malik and the Murshid (spiritual guides) of Thariqah (sufi order) on Sunday (11/07/2021).

According to Habib Lutfi, basically the commemoration of the Prophet's birthday was manifested as an expression to be grateful for the birth of Prophet Muhammad. But according to him, we Indonesians have obligations that are no less important than that, namely being grateful for the services of the heroes who have fought for the independence of the nation.

"To what extent do we express our gratitude to the Messenger of Allah? That's too excessive. Let's try to pull it down, how far we can thank our parents (predecessors). Can we not disappoint our parents? To what extent are we grateful to the founding fathers of the nation?” Habib Lutfi said.

Habib Luthfi explained that the way to be grateful for the birth of the Prophet and the sacrifices of the independence fighters of the Indonesian nation was not enough just in a ceremonial form, but must be done by growing awareness in each other. How far have we contributed to continue the struggle of the Prophet and the nation's heroes.

“What contribution do we have to continue the struggle of the Prophet? What contribution do we have to continue the struggle of the nine saints (wali songo)? What contribution do we have to the national figures," the member of the Presidential Advisory Council (Wantimpres) said.

Habib Lutfi explained, commemorating the services of the nation's heroes was very important. Because, by continuing to commemorate it, historical facts would continue to be studied and revealed, especially related to their role in fighting for the independence of the nation.

“Alhamdulillah, in Indonesia there is a Hero's Day on November 10. This is not just a warning, but to reveal the hidden history of those who have had a big contribution to this nation," Habib Luthfi said.

"Indonesia's independence is not a gift, but was achieved with remarkable struggles," Habib Luthfi said.
