KH Said Aqil Siroj visits tomb of the founder of Al-Khairat

General Chairman of the Central Board of Nahdlatul Ulama Executive Board (PBNU) KH Said Aqil Siroj (Kiai Said) went on a safari to Al Khairat Islamic Boarding School (Pesantren), Palu, Central Sulawesi. On this occasion, Kiai Said Aqil took the time to visit the tomb of the founder of Al Khairat, Habib Sayyid Idrus bin Salim al-Jufri.

 

His visit is a form of reverence for the founding figure of Al Khairat which is also the largest Islamic community organization in Eastern Indonesia.

 

"He (Sayyid Idrus bin Salim Al Jufri or commonly called Guru Tua) is an important figure in the spread of Islam in Eastern Indonesia," wrote Kiai Said on his Instagram social media, Friday (10/29/2021).

 

He said that he always placed the dzurriyah (descendents) element from the Al Khairat family in every PBNU management as a form of reverence for the struggle of the Guru Tua.

 

He also mentioned that NU and Al Khairat had a very strong relationship. This was seen when Habib Saggaf bin Muhammad Al Jufri died in mid-2021.

 

Even PBNU specifically issued a letter of instruction to Nahdliyin (NU followers) to hold the so-called shalat ghaib (prayers for the deceased).

 

"The death of the main chairman of Al Khairat who is also the grandson of Sayyid Idrus bin Salim Al Jufri at that time was a deep sorrow for the big family of Nahdlatul Ulama," the leader of the Al Tsaqafah Islamic Boarding School in Ciganjur, South Jakarta, said.

 

According to information received by NU Online, the Kiai Said's visit was accompanied by the Chairman of the Central Sulawesi's PWNU, KH Lukman Thahir and the Chairman of the North Sulawesi's PWNU, KH Ulyas Thaha.

 

In previous reports, Kiai Said was also reported to have gone on a safari (rihlah) to a number of Islamic boarding schools in Java to East Nusa Tenggara. As it is known that he upholds the sense of reverence for the elderly clerics (kiai).

 

For him, the kiai have clairvoyance and spiritual and inner clarity. Therefore, they are considered very special by Kiai Said.
