Jakarta, NU Online
At least 30 managers of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) universities across the country shared experiences with each other in the NU headquarters in Jakarta on Friday (31/10). They tried to take the distance to the management and quality of academic activities at their respective campuses.<>

Director of Institution and Cooperation Office, Directorate General for Higher Education, Prof. Hermawan K. Dipojono, reminded the audience of the status of organization-owned NU universities.

He also said the managers of NU univesities should not be confused with the quality standards of their respective institutions.

"Higher education national standards in Indonesia should be the minimum standards reference (for any educational institution)," said Hermawan.

Hermawan called on the managers of NU universities to pay more attention to at least three aspects, namely quality, system and management, and abiding by the rules and patience in the process.

Deputy Secretary General of NU, H Hanif Saha Ghofur, being moderator in the meeting said that the quality and management of NU universities were not enough to be used to develop the NU educational institutions, adding that both marketing and branding could no longer be put aside and were a must.

"The real quality of a product will lose in a competition if its branding is not well-arranged," Wahid Ipang being one of the speakers said.

At the meeting, Ipang called on the attendees to take into account the stages of branding and its management system in order to attract more attention among the general public towards the NU universities.
