“Islam is a religion calling for tolerance (tasamuh) by undertaking such efforts of dynamization in understanding texts and methods,” said Kiai Ma’ruf at a public dialog at the Wisma Antara, Jalan Merdeka Selatan, Jakarta.
Yudi Latif argued that pluralism was a must in the light of Islam as asserted by the Almighty within the Qur’an.
Diversity (pluralism) was not only a sunnatullah but also something absolutely intended by God,” said the Director Executive of the Reform Institute.
At the same time, Muslim Abdurrahman said that pluralism matters imply such efforts to place the diversity within an equal spectrum within the frame of moral and ethical base. (dar)
