LAZIZ NU gives assistance to 70 micro enterprises

The Nahdlatul Ulama Alms Agency (LAZIZ NU) distributed productive alms amounted to Rp 25 million to some 28 micro entrepreneurs mostly located on Jln. Sukabumi Selatan, Jakarta, at the As Shiroth mosque on Friday.

The agency said that it was part of 70 others willing to receive the assistance on Sunday (14/11). They are from such regions as Serang, Bekasi, and Ciamis and have run their enterprises like bakso, chicken noodle soup, phone credit business, batter-fried veggies and so on.r />
Chairman of LAZIZ NU KH Mashuri Malik symbolically gave the assistance to chairman of the mosque management of As Shiroth H Muhammad Nur and was witnessed by the director of LAZIZ NU H Amir Ma'ruf, chairman of the Productive Alms of As Shiroth mosque H Afif Malik, and local NU board members.

Mashuri said the productive alms was deliberately distributed through the mosque management for considering that it is not merely a place of worship, but also a center for people empowerment.

While Amir Ma'ruf said that the assistance was a mandate which must soon be given to eligible recipients such as the needy, the poor and so on. (dar)
