NU Pekalongan: Law enforcers must be firm against NKRI Insurgents

When the nation was being tested by groups claiming themselves the most righteous and forcing to replace the Republic of Indonesia with other ideologies, then Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) was at the forefront fighting against them.

NU has always encouraged law enforcers to deal with any threat posed by those who have propagated the khilafah teachings. Therefore, the apparatus must be firm and do not hesitate to take action, NU is ready behind law enforcement officers, the TNI, and the National Police.

Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Pekalongan, H. Muhtarom made the remarks at the NU 96th Anniversary Commemoration in Pekalongan City Square, Saturday (23/03).

"Law enforcers should not hesitate and hesitate to take firm action against NKRI disturbing groups under any pretext and NU is ready to guard the NKRI," he said. adding that NU was a religious and social organization preserving the teachings of ahlussunnah waljamaah (aswaja) that are in accordance with the country's situation and conditions.

Muhtarom called on the Nahdliyin (NU members) to make the NU 96th Commemoration as momentum to maintain and strengthen the brotherhood between nahdliyin (ukhuwah Nahdliyah), strengthen the brotherhood of fellow Muslims (ukhuwah Islamiyah), and strengthen the brotherhood of fellow Indonesians (ukhuwah wathaniyah).

"We must guard the nation's agenda, namely high-quality and peaceful elections to elect trustworthy leaders who can bring this country as baldatun tayyibatun wa rabbun ghafur that is inline with the needs of Indonesian citizens," he said.

The commemoration was attended by thousands of participants from Muslimat NU, Fatayat NU, Ansor, IPNU, IPPNU, PMII, Pagarnusa, Banser, and other NU autonomous bodies. (Muiz/Masdar)
